New Twitter launched in the last week (read all about it on the 33 Digital blog here). Trying it out it struck me quickly that the new look and feel is more like a Gmail or Tweetdeck feel than a stream of updates. So I tried using keyboard shortcuts to navigate through the content. Guess what. It works.
So here are 25 keyboard shortcuts I've found that work, for you to use in New Twitter. Enjoy the speedier surfing.
- J - moves the highlighted tweet down one tweet
- K - moves up a tweet
- Space - moves screen down
- Shift-Space - moves screen up
- Shift H - top of screen
- Shift R - replies to the tweet you're hovering over
- Shift F - favourites the tweet you're hovering over
- Shift T - retwets the tweet you're hovering over
- Enter - opens tweet to the right hand panel
- F - favourites that tweet (star)
- R - replies to that tweet
- T - retweets that tweet
- Enter again - closes opened tweet
- M - opens 'Message' in a pop-up window
- Esc - closes 'Message' pop-up window
- N - opens new tweet in pop-up window (Esc closes again)
- / - goes to search
- Shift H - goes to home
- . - refreshes tweets
- g then m - go to inbox
- g then r - go to replies
- g then f - go to favourites
- g then p - go to your profile
- g then u - go to a person's profile
- g then h - go to home
