Thanks David Tebbutt for an update on this week's other good social media conference, the one on MySpace. Sounds like it was a good one to have been at. Speakers at "What MySpace Means: Lessons for every brand" included The Guardian's Vic Keegan, Fox News' Scott Norvell and Big Blog Co.'s Adriana Lucas. Reading the overview, my favourite anecdote was this, on youth interaction on MySpace vs real life:
The Guardian's Victor Keegan talked about the university whose students wouldn't go to union meetings because they were so busy communicating in MySpace. The Union discovered that a lot of potential members were fans of a particular film series. So the Union screened an episode. The MySpace folk turned up en masse but then didn't speak to each other.
