Had I relied on the information the train and tube firms published I'd have stayed at home today. National Rail's site was down, Transport for London's site was far too vague, and mainstream media's announcements and updates were full of melodrama. Instead I used Twitter searches for the places I was hoping to travel through and found a route in and out of work today. Searching for terms such as Paddington, Circle Line and Barbican showed me that there was a route into the office when other information I was being fed elsewhere was suggesting otherwise.
It did take me an hour longer than usual, but I finished my assignment, and have everything I need were I to be snowed in for another week :)
