PR Week and blogger exchange ...no invites...

The blogger behind ...the World's Leading... sent a messenger down to PR Week's offices this week to pick up an invite to its awards party. No invite was handed over, and the blogger has posted asking for a response from PR Week. So watch out in the comments for PR Week's answer and a reason for the wild goose chase.

Comms firm Verizon has started blogging. Called PoliBlog, it's about telecoms and comms policy.

Technorati has a newsletter

Newsletters. All companies have them don't they? But here comes Technorati. And I think that seldom has the introduction of a user newsletter caused so much buzz, especially when sent out by the in-house press office with such a big wierd typo in the headline. But when I got this from Technorati yesterday:

...well, I thought I'd check the buzz. Technorati itself says 34 blogs have covered this newsletter launch in one day, and Google says there have been 24 mentions. All for the launch of a newsletter! That''s buzz.

Microsoft's 50 Zune blogs

Fullrunner, the email newsletter of Fullrun, reports that "Microsoft appears to be planning another Xbox-type campaign of attrition." Fullrunner says that, reading up on Zunerama and listening to the Microsoft guys talking the talk, it seems we're on the receiving end of a blog onslaught from the Zune camp.

"...perhaps the most striking thing about Zune thus far is
the proliferation of blogs dedicated to the gadget. Zunerama -- one of the sites in question -- has already counted 50 separate dedicated blogs, the vast majority of which are doing little more than recycling Microsoft PR material."
