Fresh back from my honeymoon, and some of the bizarreness that is the Far East, it seems everywhere I turn I am seeing reports on China's growth as a nation. I was reading Shakil Khan's blog, www.chinawhite.net, yesterday, which pointed me to an article in the New York Times on property boom over in Shanghai.
Shanghai ... a city that already has 4,000 skyscrapers, almost double the number in New York. And there are designs to build 1,000 more by the end of this decade.
Then the eagerly awaited article in this morning's FT which Shak had been telling me about has been printed in this morning's FT Digital Business, which focuses on China's tech boom. Shak talks about the new online gold rush and how rapid the growth can be in a country with 100m people online, less than 10% of the population, who are harnessing the peer to peer internet first and foremost, compared to the west's dotcom boom which was based more on e-commerce.
