Drew B's take on tech PR

Great publicity for blog PR company Blogging Planet

My site isn't about blogging. It's a blog about tech PR. So it's for that reason that I'm noting the launch of Blogging Planet. It's received some great online PR since its launch, mentioned in a lot of places, most of which I've picked up on separetely, through my RSS aggregator. So to me it's EVERYWHERE!

Blogging Planet seems to be positioning itself a firm that will help customers to use blogs as a PR / marketing / comms tool. The people behind it are established international PR and marketing bloggers, including Neville Hobson. Best of luck with this project!

Glamorgan Uni and Remploy PR stunt

Boing Boing carries a story on how Glamorgan Uni found a load of secrets on people's apparently clean hard drives. In a research project, the uni bought a load of second hand PCs and here's what happened:

"..more than half still contained personal information. This included national insurance numbers, evidence of a married woman’s affair and detailed biographical information about children.

Ninety-seven of the hard drives were bought on eBay and four at car boot sales. As a control experiment, ten drives were also sourced from LCS Remploy, a company specialising in the destruction of data. All proved to be clean."
